What is Paraban?

Paraban is an initiative for knowledge exchange for the Control of Johne's Disease in Scottish Cattle, engaging all of those involved in Johne's Disease including farmers, vets, scientists, industry members and others with an interest in the disease.

The original Paraban project was a Scottish Funding Council initiative that focused on 'Champion' farmers and their vets and followed them over a 3 year period whilst they implemented their own management and control plans for Johne's disease. These farmers crucially acted as "champions", by hosting open days to showcase their farms to nearby farmers and openly sharing their successes and difficulties in managing this notoriously frustrating disease.
